For science fiction aficionados who watch "Battlestar Gallactica" or grew up watching "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel," new show "Dollhouse" can't be missed.
Joss Whedon fans will find his newest creation "Dollhouse," which premieres in November, to not only have a few of the same faces, but the same writing style and sci-fi feel as past Whedon projects.
"Dollhouse," which premiere on Fox, will star Eliza Dukshu of "Buffy" and "Bring It On" as Echo.
Echo is a doll who is like a fantasy woman, one of a select group of humans imprinted with personality packages to control behavior and emotion. The only twist is when Echo and the others, who are not assigned personalities, live in a lab in a mindless state.
Production began last week on the show that includes not only Dushku as the lead, but several Whedon show alumni.
Amy Acker, known for her role as Fred on "Angel," will play Dr. Clare Saunder, who looks after the dolls.
Some of the other supporting cast members from big name shows include Harry J. Lennix from "24" as Echo's handler Boyd Langton and Tahmoh Penikett, aka Helo from "Battlestar Gallactica," as Paul Smith, Echo's potential love interest.
The rest of the cast includes Enver Gjokaj as one of Echo's friends, Miracle Laurie as one of the dolls, Dichen Lachman as Echo's friend Siera, Fran Kranz as Topher who imprints the dolls and Olivia Williams as Adelle, the woman who runs the dollhouse.
While Fox only ordered seven episodes of the show, the show is generating very positive buzz, not only among Whedon and sci-fi fans, but among critics excited to see what Whedon will churn out next.
