A week after the USC administration made its first formal address concerning the closing of the German department, Dean Howard Gillman of the College of Letters, Arts & Sciences issued a memorandum to faculty members in response to a circulating letter that had been endorsed by 97 College professors. Members of multiple unions are marching 28 miles to symbolize workers trying to stay out of poverty.

After working for 37 years cleaning tables at The Grill in Commons, Maria Villalobos said she still remembers the two times she had to strike in order to stop USC officials from dissolving her union. Villalobos - a member of the Union of Needletrades, Industrial and Textile Employees, Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees - is one of a few USC dining hall workers who are marching with "Hollywood to the Docks," a 28-mile march from Hollywood to San Pedro that started April 15 and is scheduled to end today. USG campaign goals are reviewed

The outgoing USG president, vice president met some but not all goals.

When Sahil Chaudry and Max Slavkin won the Undergraduate Student Government elections last spring, students were told the team was going to "be the change" at home, on campus and in the community. KSCR adapts to new media challenges

KSCR has expanded its listenership and funding through podcasts.

Though music industry experts say commercial radio is becoming increasingly irrelevant and the face of the industry is changing, USC's student-run radio station, KSCR, continues to increase its viewership by adapting to new forms of media. "It's a matter of cultivating relationships with students and people in the community," said Aisah Gemora, general manager of KSCR. (2) comments
