DeRozan, Gibson go in first round of NBA draft

Former USC basketball players go ninth, 24th in Thursday's draft.

Veteran education benefits up in the air with new bill

USC has applied for the Yellow Ribbon Program to allocate benefits to veterans.

After holding out hope that officials in Washington, D.C. could fix a semantic glitch in the Post-9/11 GI Bill, USC decided at the eleventh hour to offer tuition benefits to veterans enrolling as undergraduates or as graduates in the School of Social Work and the Rossier School of Education through a new program. Colorado receiver may transfer to USC

Josh Smith was released only to attend USC, but it has not been determined if he will attend.

    After being granted a transfer release from his scholarship only to USC, Colorado wide receiver Josh Smith was denied a full release by a panel of Colorado faculty members Monday.       USC is now the only Football Bowl Subdivision school to which Smith could transfer without having to pay his own way, according to a report first published by the Boulder Daily Camera. Students join in protesting Iran’s election

As violence grows in the election’s aftermath, L.A.-based Iranians worry for their families.

Nearly two weeks ago, Iranian students at USC were celebrating voting in Iran’s presidential election but now they’re protesting, asking themselves the question that seems to be on many Iranians’ mind since the re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: “Where is my vote?” “The result was very disappointing and shocking,” said Hamid Chabok, president of the Iranian Graduate Student Association at USC. 7 comments
